Our Mission:
THE FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH OF OCEANWAY EXISTS TO GLORIFY GOD BY MAKING DISCIPLES WHO WILL SERVE THE WORLD.
Our mission, vision, and goal is the Biblical idea that we are “…His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works…that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10). We desire to be a people who serve each other (inside the church), while also serving the world around us. The following is a list that reflects both the present ministries of our church, along with ministries that we believe need to either be established or reestablished. In no way is this list meant to be an exhaustive list, meaning that we know that there are individuals and groups that are doing ministry each week that seemingly goes unnoticed (by us, but thankfully not by the Lord). We encourage all of our members to follow the Lord’s leading, even if that means beginning a ministry that is not on our list. We ask every member of FBCO to prayerfully look over our ministry list and seek the Lord concerning how He might have you serve Him. In all that we do, may we make it our aim to, “…Serve the Lord with gladness.”
Our Pastor:
Micah Strickland
Pastor Micah Strickland has been a member of First Baptist Church Oceanway since 1984 and began serving as Pastor in January 2007. He is deeply devoted to the Word of God and to the God of the Word. Under his leadership, FBCO has embraced the mission of glorifying God by making disciples who will serve the world. Pastor Micah’s primary focus in ministry is teaching God's Word, loving God’s people, and making disciples of all nations. Pastor Micah and his wife Misti, have three children, Morgan, Madison, and Malachi.
